TITLE: Senior Case Manager

REPORTS TO: Project Manager

LOCATION: St. Louis, MO

BACKGROUND: Urban Strategies is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1978, located in Saint Louis Missouri. Urban Strategies builds the social services infrastructure for residents of redeveloping urban core communities. Urban Strategies understands that the physical revitalization of housing by itself is not sufficient to create communities which produce social and economic integration. In order to create successful and thriving mixed-income developments, a network of community support systems must be planned and implemented concurrent with the development of new housing. These supportive services offer residents the opportunities to succeed and thrive in mixed-income communities.

JOB SUMMARY: Urban Strategies is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Case Manager with a strong professional background in workforce development services. This is a full-time position located in St. Louis at the 3501 Franklin housing community.

The Senior Case Manager is responsible for helping residents of redeveloping low-income communities increase access and usage of community resources and existing service systems. This position is also responsible for workforce development, assessing, referring, and monitoring residents’ progress, and supervising Assistant Case Manager and clerical support staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum of a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree or master’s degree in a related field required; in addition, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification is preferred
2. Minimum of five years supervisory experiences
3. Minimum of two years experience of workforce development
4. Minimum of two years experiences of working with low – income families
5. Proven track of providing assessments, referrals and follow-up of individuals
6. Excellent communication skills verbal and written with Instructor Trainer experience preferred
7. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
8. Must be able to multi-task easily and enjoy working with the public
9. Must be available for occasional evening and weekend work hours

TITLE: Senior Project Manager

REPORTS TO: Executive Vice President

LOCATION: San Francisco, CA

BACKGROUND: Urban Strategies is a not-for-profit corporation headquartered in St. Louis, MO, that plans and implements Human Capital building strategies in distressed urban core neighborhoods across the United States. Our projects are designed to end the physical, social and economic isolation of obsolete and distressed communities by: 1) creating an attractive mixed income community and 2) supporting former low-income residents in progressing toward self-sufficiency. Urban Strategies uses innovative approaches provide families with a broad and integrated set of supports as they make the transition to new housing and to economic self sufficiency. Urban Strategies also works with partners to increase the Human Capital-building assets in the revitalized community.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Senior Project Manager will, with support from the Executive Vice President and other team members, serve as the lead on selected projects in San Francisco, directing new and innovative Human Capital building programs to improve the ability of low-income residents to become more self-sufficient. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of planning and implementing projects, which may include:

1) development of programs based on best practices models, including budget development;
2) oversight and administration of programs, staff, and budgets;
3) tracking and reporting of program outcomes;
4) collaborating with and sustaining strong relationships with local business, education, and philanthropic communities;
5) establishing comprehensive collaborative and contractual operating relationships with key organizations and social service providers;
6) providing staff support to steering committees and to resident outreach activities; and,
7) supporting resource development to include grant writing and reporting.

The Senior Project Manager will also provide support to the Executive Vice President and other Executive Team members on other projects as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires excellent communication and organizational skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and desktop publishing software; a strong interest in social service and business entrepreneurial spirit; a team work approach; ability to hold privileged information in a professional and confidential manner; flexibility to attend evening and weekend functions and occasional travel as required; a passion for community building and ability to share that enthusiasm with residents, staff and the larger community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidate will hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Urban Affairs, Public Administration, or other related field, and at least three years of work experience in the not-for-profit or human services sector.

TITLE: Service Connector

REPORTS TO: Senior Service Connector

LOCATION: San Francisco, CA

BACKGROUND: Urban Strategies (US) is a not-for-profit corporation that works with residents at mixed-income housing communities, providing an integrated system of supportive services and opportunities to counter poverty and build self sufficiency for low income citizens. US works with a variety of community partners and funders, such as HUD and the City of San Francisco, to increase the Human Capital-building assets of residents.

JOB SUMMARY: The Service Connector will work with a team of social workers, case managers, relocation and employment specialists and other professionals to identify appropriate strategies and assist families. The Service Connector utilizes knowledge of the San Francisco community, specifically Bay View, to establish effective relationships with businesses and social service organizations. The Service Connector provides case management, referral and seamless coordination with other community and supportive services activities that promote economic self-sufficiency for families, enhance quality of life for seniors, and the disabled, and increase opportunities for residents.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related area, with a minimum of three years of related experience.
2. Ability and commitment to handle privileged information in a professional and confidential manner.
3. Availability to attend evening and weekend functions as required.
4. Possession of a valid driver’s license and availability of automobile for use at work.
5. Ability to function as a team player in both internal and external relationships.
6. Good communication skills.
